Two-car accident in Concord results in injuries, road closure

CONCORD –– Concord emergency services responded to a two-car accident on Monday evening, which resulted in injuries and a temporary road closure.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Sewalls Falls Road and Sylvester Street.

Police and fire dispatch started receiving calls for service shortly after 7:30 p.m., indicating injuries and potentially a person trapped in a vehicle.

Eyewitnesses also reported seeing people down on the road.

On arrival, firefighters immediately requested a third ambulance due to the severity of the situation.

The fire commander confirmed significant car damage and categorized two victims as Status 2 patients and one as a Status 3 patient, indicating varying levels of injuries.

Concord police closed off the intersection for emergency response and asked for additional support. However, they later reopened one lane to traffic on Sewalls Falls Road.

By approximately 8:15 p.m., three patients had been transported to Concord Hospital for treatment.

The status of their conditions is presently unknown.
