Holbrook police arrest man with drugs, ammunition after suspicious event report

HOLBROOK — After responding to a report of a suspicious event at an apartment building on Saturday, Holbrook Police Department officers detained a man suspected of possessing a firearm.

During the initial investigation of the incident, officers received information about a male potentially armed with a gun.

With the support of mutual aid from neighboring communities, safety measures were swiftly enacted.

The suspect was observed exiting the apartment building and was subsequently detained without any issues.

A search warrant led to the discovery of a substantial quantity of ammunition, drugs, and $31,960 in cash.

Charges against the man include assault with a dangerous weapon (gun), possession of ammunition without an FID card (30 5.7 rounds), trafficking cocaine (404 grams), possession of Class B drugs, intent to distribute Class D drugs (3 pounds), and possession of Class A drugs.

The defendant is scheduled for arraignment at Quincy District Court tomorrow.
