Motorcyclist arrested on drug charge in Binghamton

BINGHAMTON, NY — New York State Police arrested a Johnson City man on a felony drug charge June 28, 2026.

Sean Anthony Haynes, 37, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 5th degree, a class D felony.

A trooper observed a motorcycle speeding on Broome Corporate Parkway and initiated a traffic stop.

During the investigation, the trooper determined the motorcycle had a license plate that did not belong to that motorcycle.

The motorcycle was also unregistered and uninsured.

A further investigation determined Haynes was in possession of suspected crack cocaine.

Haynes was arrested and transported to State Police Binghamton for processing.

He was later turned over to the Broome County Jail for centralized arraignment.
