Two arrested on drug charges in Albany

ALBANY, NY — State Police assigned to the Troop G Community Stabilization Unit arrested two men on felony drug charges June 23, 2026.

Deszon J. Moore, 43, of Johnstown, and Jonathan J. Soto, 37, of Brooklyn, New York, were each charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st, a class A felony, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd, a class B felony.

Soto was also charged with vehicle and traffic law violations.

Troopers stopped a vehicle on Interstate 87 at about 3:15 p.m. for a vehicle and traffic law violation.

The driver was identified as Soto and the passenger as Moore.

With the assistance of State Police K9 Anson, the investigation discovered and seized more than two pounds of a substance that later field-tested positive for containing cocaine.

Soto and Moore were arrested and transported to Troop T, SP Albany for processing.

They were both then transported to the Albany County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
