Man arrested on animal cruelty charge in Victory Mills

VICTORY MILLS, NY — A man was arrested Friday on charges of overdriving, torturing and injuring animals and failure to provide sustenance.

Jeremiah P. Coffey III, 51, of Victory Mills, is accused of failing to provide sustenance to a dog that had been residing with him.

The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office responded to an animal complaint on June 5 at 7:52 a.m. on Gates Avenue.

Coffey voluntarily surrendered the dog as well as two cats to the Saratoga County Animal Shelter.

He was released on an appearance ticket pending proceedings in Saratoga Town Court.

The charge is a class A misdemeanor.
