WARE, MA — Members of the Ware Police Department executed a search warrant at an apartment on Cherry Street on Monday afternoon, resulting in the arrest of two men on multiple charges.
Police executed the warrant at approximately 3:55 p.m. at 17B Cherry Street.
The Ware Police Department was assisted by members of the Hardwick/New Braintree Police, Palmer Police and members of the Hampden County Sheriff’s Department.
Officers were searching for Jason Ramirez, 39, of Ware, who had an active arrest warrant for narcotics violations out of Holyoke District Court.
Officers located Ramirez and placed him under arrest within the apartment.
Officers also located Tykwon Rashad Blunt, 37, of Hartford, Connecticut, inside the apartment.
Blunt was a suspect in a domestic assault and battery on Friday in which a firearm was discharged inside an apartment on Otis Avenue in Ware.
Through an ongoing investigation, Ware Police linked Blunt to the firearm.
Blunt was also wanted in Connecticut on escape charges while he was out on a work-release program.
Blunt was arrested and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery domestic, carrying a firearm without a license, discharge of a firearm within 500 feet of a building and fugitive from justice.
Blunt was held on $250,000 bail.
Ramirez was held without the right to bail.
Ramirez and Blunt were scheduled to be arraigned at the Eastern Hampshire District Court in Belchertown on Tuesday.
