Man arrested on contempt charge in Hornell

HORNELL, NY — A 31-year-old man was arrested after allegedly violating an order of protection.

Patrick M.B. Clancy, of Hornell, was taken into custody July 2 without incident.

The Hornell Police Department received a report July 1 of an order of protection violation against a protected party.

An investigation revealed Clancy had allegedly communicated with the protected party in violation of an order of protection, police said.

Clancy was charged with second-degree criminal contempt, a misdemeanor.

He was arraigned in Hornell City Court and remanded to the Steuben County Jail.
