Woman arrested on assault charge in Utica

UTICA, NY — A woman has been arrested in connection with a stabbing that occurred in June.

Utica Police and Utica Fire units were dispatched to the 100 block of Hobart Street on June 19, 2026, at approximately 9:45 p.m. regarding a stabbing investigation.

Upon arrival, it was learned that a victim had been stabbed in the face and wrist with a screwdriver.

Utica Fire Department personnel transported the female victim to Wynn Hospital for treatment.

While at the hospital, the victim provided investigators with details of the incident and named a suspect.

On July 1, officers with the Patrol Division located the suspect, Dorethea Rolle, 50, of Utica, and took her into custody without issue.

Rolle was transported to the Utica Police Department and charged with assault in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree.
