Parolee arrested for assaults, burglaries in Arcadia

ARCADIA, NY — A Dundee man faces multiple felony charges after allegedly assaulting victims at three separate residences in the Town of Arcadia on Thursday.

Jonathan Shearin, 34, of Dundee, was arrested following a series of incidents that began with a disturbance call on Hydesville Road.

Deputies responding to the initial call found three victims who had been assaulted and required medical attention.

The suspect had fled before deputies arrived.

While investigating the first incident, deputies received a 911 call reporting an assault on Tellier Road in Arcadia.

A victim at the Tellier Road residence sustained an arm injury when the suspect attempted to force entry into the home.

The suspect had again fled before deputies arrived.

Deputies then discovered the suspect was in a neighboring residence where he had allegedly assaulted two occupants.

Six victims from the three separate residences were transported to area hospitals for treatment of injuries sustained in the attacks.

Shearin was charged with five counts of burglary in the first degree, one count of robbery in the second degree, nine counts of assault in the second degree, one count of assault in the third degree and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree.

He is being held at the Wayne County Jail without bail.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by New York State Police, Newark Police Department and Wayne County EMS.
