WILLIAMSTOWN, VT — A Massachusetts man was cited for excessive speed and negligent operation after state police clocked him driving 100 mph on Interstate 89 North on July 1, 2026.
Troopers from the Vermont State Police were conducting speed enforcement on I-89 North near Exit 5 at approximately 7:05 p.m.
The posted speed limit in that area is 65 mph.
Troopers observed a vehicle traveling at 100 mph and stopped it without incident.
The operator was identified as Luke Lamar, 34, of Auburn, Massachusetts.
Lamar was issued a criminal citation to appear in Orange County Superior Court – Criminal Division on Aug. 5, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. to answer to the charges.
Lamar was also issued a civil ticket carrying a waiver amount of $530 and 2 points.
