Double homicide investigated in Hartford

HARTFORD, CT — Police are investigating a double homicide that left two men dead and a teenager injured early Sunday.

Hartford Police officers responded to the area of 135 Madison Street following a report of a large fight in the roadway.

Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive male suffering from an apparent stab wound.

Officers immediately began CPR until the arrival of EMS.

The victim was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

While officers were on scene, it was learned that two additional victims from the same incident had arrived at an area hospital by private vehicle.

One victim suffered a gunshot wound and was later pronounced deceased.

The third victim, a 17-year-old male, sustained a gunshot wound and is listed in stable condition.

The deceased stabbing victim was identified as Troylon Cooper, 35, of Manchester.

The deceased gunshot victim was identified as Bryan Ortiz-Santiago, 29, of Hartford.

The Hartford Police Major Crimes and Crime Scene Divisions have assumed the investigation.
