LAKEWOOD, NJ — Two Lakewood men were arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop in the early morning hours of June 20, 2026.
Rondell Murray, 72, of Lakewood, and Daniel Meadows, 42, of Lakewood, were taken into custody after officers conducted a motor vehicle stop at approximately 1:15 a.m.
An officer initiated the stop after observing multiple traffic violations.
During the investigation, officers learned that one of the occupants had multiple outstanding warrants.
A K-9 unit responded to the scene and positively alerted to the presence of controlled dangerous substances inside the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of a quantity of suspected crack cocaine, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia.
Murray was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, along with several motor vehicle violations.
Meadows was arrested on multiple outstanding warrants and additionally charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both individuals were transported to the Ocean County Jail pending court proceedings.
