HAMMOND, NY — Members of the New York State Police arrested Christopher L. Snyder, 49, of Ogdensburg, for Criminal Contempt in the First Degree (prior conviction within five years), Aggravated Family Offense, and Bail Jumping in the Second Degree on June 24, 2026.

At approximately 8:05 p.m., troopers responded to River Road in the town of Hammond in an attempt to locate Snyder, who had an active bench warrant stemming from a previous incident.

An investigation determined that Snyder violated a stay-away order of protection by contacting the protected party.

Snyder was located at the residence and taken into custody without incident.

He was transported to State Police Ogdensburg for processing.

Following arraignment in the Town of Hammond Court, Snyder was remanded to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility.
