BRADFORD, ME — Three people were arrested on drug trafficking charges following a traffic stop Saturday that led to the seizure of methamphetamine, fentanyl and crack cocaine.
A Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office deputy conducted a traffic stop on East Road in Bradford for motor vehicle violations at approximately 2 p.m.
The deputy determined the driver was operating with a suspended license and was subject to active bail conditions.
The vehicle contained two additional occupants.
Probable cause was developed to search the vehicle, leading to the discovery of over 120 gross grams of methamphetamine, nearly 15 gross grams of fentanyl and approximately 6 grams of cocaine base.
During the detention process, one of the occupants attempted to flee the scene while in handcuffs but tripped, fell and was immediately apprehended.
Nicholas Mitchell, 36, of Bangor, was charged with two counts of aggravated trafficking of scheduled W drugs, unlawful possession of scheduled W drugs, unsworn falsification, refusing to submit to arrest/detention and 12 counts of violation of conditional release.
Wilbur Babb, 63, of Alton, was charged with two counts of aggravated trafficking of scheduled W drugs, unlawful possession of scheduled W drugs and violation of conditional release.
Jennifer Worotnik, 47, of Bangor, was charged with two counts of aggravated trafficking of scheduled W drugs and unlawful possession of scheduled W drugs.
All three individuals were transported to the Penobscot County Jail.
