VERONA, NY — New York State Police arrested a Gloversville man on weapons and drug charges June 15, 2026.
Brandon M. Ross, 32, of Gloversville, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon 4th degree and criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree.
Troopers assigned to SP Schuyler conducted a traffic stop on a 2014 Chevrolet pickup truck traveling eastbound on the New York State Thruway (I-90) in the town of Verona shortly before 5:30 p.m. for vehicle and traffic law violations.
During the interview with Ross, the driver, troopers observed a Ruger semi-automatic handgun in the door compartment.
Troopers detained Ross, who did not possess a New York State pistol permit for the weapon.
During a vehicle search, troopers located approximately two grams of mushrooms (psilocybin).
Ross was transported to SP Schuyler for processing and released on appearance tickets.
He is due in Verona Town Court July 28, 2026.
