Robbery charge filed in Utica

UTICA, NY — A Utica woman was charged after police investigated a robbery reported on the 1500 block of Genesee Street, according to the Utica Police Department.

Police said officers were dispatched June 8 to investigate the report.

The victim told officers that a woman he knew physically assaulted him, stole food and other property from him, and fled the area, police said.

Police said the victim provided officers with the suspect’s name.

On June 10, China Butler, 38, of Utica, was located by members of New York State Parole and transported to the Utica Police Department, police said.

Butler was charged with robbery in the third degree and a New York State parole violation, according to police.
