UTICA, NY — A man was charged after police said a woman was struck with a metal yard rake during an argument June 9 at a residence in the 800 block of Oswego Street.
Utica police and fire units were dispatched to the home for an assault investigation.
Officers arrived and were met by a victim who said she had been struck about the body with the rake during the argument.
Police said the woman had visible injuries, including puncture wounds to her legs and a broken hand that was later diagnosed.
She was taken by the Utica Fire Department to Wynn Hospital for treatment.
Investigators with the department’s Warrants Unit later located the suspect, identified by police as Hunter Olah, 46, of Poland, and took him into custody.
At the conclusion of the investigation, Olah was charged with second-degree assault and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
