PLAINVILLE, CT — An 88-year-old man died after being struck by a vehicle on New Britain Avenue on Saturday.
The Plainville Police Department responded to the scene at about 12:05 p.m. for a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a Honda HR-V was traveling eastbound on New Britain Avenue when it struck the pedestrian in the area of 440 New Britain Ave.
The driver remained on scene and has been cooperative with the police investigation.
The pedestrian sustained serious injuries and was transported to Hartford Hospital by an AMR ambulance.
Richard Sederquist, 88, of Middletown, died at the hospital several hours later.
The accident remains under investigation.
