CAMP HILL, PA — A New York man has been charged with stalking and witness intimidation after police say he violated bail conditions by contacting a victim he was ordered to avoid.
Ali M. Tobar, 39, of Nyack, New York, was arrested May 22 following an investigation that began May 7.
Camp Hill Police Department officials said Tobar was out on bail in two other cases involving harassment and stalking of a borough resident.
As a condition of his bail, Tobar was prohibited from having contact with the victim, according to police.
Police said Tobar made a false report to Cumberland County Children and Youth Services about the victim in an attempt to intimidate and retaliate against her prior to an upcoming court date.
Tobar also contacted the victim and told her not to speak negatively about him in court, police said.
He was charged with retaliation against a witness or victim, intimidation of a witness or victim, harassment and stalking.
Tobar was remanded to Cumberland County Prison on $50,000 monetary bail.
