LEWISTOWN, PA — A 19-year-old man from Ecuador was arrested after a shots fired incident on Logan Street early May 14.
Officers responded to the 300 block of Logan Street at 12:04 a.m. after receiving reports of shots fired.
Witnesses reported seeing a female making statements about being shot.
The Lewistown Police Department was assisted by Granville Township Police Department and the Mifflin County Regional Police Department in searching for suspects and victims.
Officers recognized a 16-year-old female who was involved and went to her residence.
The juvenile identified two males involved and stated that a Hispanic male fired a handgun into the air.
Officers determined the subject was at a residence on the 400 block of West Fourth Street.
Officers, assisted by Granville Township Police Department, located the subject described by the juvenile.
The subject provided a false name and officers could not positively identify him.
He was transported to the Mifflin County Correctional Facility where he was identified by scanning his fingerprints through a national database.
The subject was identified as Leandro Maikel Villamar-Chavez, 19, of Ecuador.
Villamar had a prior charge of unlawful entry and was wanted for assaulting an officer in New York.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement issued a detainer for Villamar.
Villamar was not cooperative in the shooting investigation and was lodged in the correctional facility on the ICE detainer.
He was also later charged with false identification to law enforcement.
Officers obtained additional video with audio and determined that Villamar was not the subject who fired the weapon.
No one was injured and a bullet was recovered from the ground next to the curb.
The subject in the video appeared to fire the gun into the ground.
Officers questioned a 16-year-old juvenile suspect from Milroy in the presence of their parents on the same day, and the juvenile refused to provide a statement.
**Woman arrested on theft, harassment charges in Lewistown**

LEWISTOWN, PA — A 61-year-old Lewistown woman was arrested May 15 after allegedly stealing items from a vacant apartment.
Officers responded to the first block of Logan Street at 1:26 p.m. for a theft report.
A resident moved out of an apartment and left personal property in the apartment.
Cherie L. Berrier, 61, of Lewistown, who resides in a separate apartment, entered the vacant apartment and took several items that belonged to the other person.
Berrier claimed the other person owed her $40.
The complainant estimated the value of the stolen items to be $126.
The owner of the stolen property confronted Berrier about the theft.
Berrier shoved the other person and then threw the stolen items out into the hallway.
Berrier was found to have an active prothonotary warrant from Mifflin County.
Berrier was arrested on the warrant and lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility.
Berrier was also charged with theft by unlawful taking and harassment.
**Woman arrested on PFA violation charges in Lewistown**

LEWISTOWN, PA — A 23-year-old Carlisle woman was arrested after allegedly violating a protection from abuse order.
Officers received a complaint of a PFA violation at 2:32 a.m. May 17.
A Lewistown resident showed officers numerous calls purported to be from Tia Marie Garber, 23, of Carlisle.
Garber has an active protection from abuse order issued out of Perry County that prohibits Garber from having contact with the resident.
Garber has been messaging the resident’s current boyfriend trying to have messages and calls returned.
Officers were present for one of these calls that was answered by the resident who recognized the voice to be from Garber.
The Lewistown Police Department obtained an arrest warrant charging Garber with indirect criminal contempt.
The warrant was served by North Middleton Township Police Department and Garber was lodged in Cumberland County Prison pending extradition to Mifflin County.
