Woman arrested on felony charges in Brunswick

BRUNSWICK, NY — A woman was arrested after allegedly ramming another vehicle multiple times in a parking lot.

Basirah Jamalzada, 24, of Watervliet, was arrested May 15, 2026, and charged with two counts of criminal mischief in the third degree, a class E felony, reckless endangerment in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor, criminal tampering in the third degree, a class B misdemeanor, and vehicle and traffic law violations.

At about 9:35 p.m. May 15, 2026, troopers responded to a parking lot in the area of Hoosick Road for the report of a disturbance.

The investigation determined Jamalzada was in a vehicle in the parking lot when the victim, who is known to Jamalzada, arrived in another vehicle.

The victim got out and attempted to talk to Jamalzada when Jamalzada allegedly intentionally backed her vehicle into the victim’s vehicle multiple times, then turned her vehicle around and struck it again before fleeing in her vehicle.

No one was injured during the incident.

Jamalzada was located and arrested at her home a short time later.

She was transported to State Police Brunswick for processing.

She was then arraigned at the Schaghticoke Town Court, where she was released on her own recognizance.
