WATERBURY, CT — Waterbury police arrested two men May 18 after officers investigating a stolen vehicle from Avon located the SUV in the area of Burr Street.
Officers assigned to the Waterbury Police Department Auto Theft Task Force found a 2026 gray BMW X5 M60i and conducted a motor vehicle stop, police said.
Police said the vehicle tried to flee but was quickly stopped.
The driver, Jadyn Dejesus, 18, of Stratford, was removed from the vehicle and taken into custody without incident, police said.
The passenger, Stephan Mason, 21, of Waterbury, tried to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended by officers, according to police.
Dejesus was charged with reckless driving, interfering with an officer, second-degree criminal trover, failure to obey an officer’s signal, and first-offense larceny of a motor vehicle.
Mason was charged with interfering with an officer and first-offense larceny of a motor vehicle.
