PITTSBURGH, PA — A Pittsburgh man with a history of firearms convictions was taken into custody, Allegheny County Sheriff Kevin M. Kraus announced Thursday.
Deandre Williams, 24, of Pittsburgh, has pleaded guilty on three different occasions since 2023 to firearms-related charges, including carrying a firearm without a license and person not to possess a firearm, according to the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office.
In March, bench warrants were issued in all three cases for probation violations, the sheriff’s office said.
Williams also had two active warrants from the City of Pittsburgh charging him with domestic-related simple assault involving two different women, authorities said.
Detectives with the sheriff’s office developed information this week that Williams was inside a residence on Benton Avenue in the Brighton Heights neighborhood, according to the sheriff’s office.
When detectives arrived at the home Thursday morning, they were able to see Williams inside, authorities said.
A woman answered the door and confirmed that Williams was inside the house, the sheriff’s office said.
Detectives entered the house and found Williams in the dining room, where he was arrested without incident, authorities said.
Williams was taken to the Allegheny County Jail, according to the sheriff’s office.
