PEN ARGYL, PA — A 51-year-old man was arrested May 13 after police responded to a reported domestic incident in progress in the 100 block of B Street, authorities said.
Police said officers were dispatched at about 8:12 p.m. and, upon arrival, contacted a victim who had visible injuries from the alleged assault.
The suspect was identified as Joseph Earl Schiavone, 51.
Police said Schiavone fled on foot before officers arrived.
With assistance from Bangor Borough Police, Schiavone was located nearby and taken into custody, authorities said.
Schiavone was transported to Northampton County Prison, where he was lodged.
He was charged with simple assault and harassment.
Court records were not immediately available.
