KEENE, NH — A 78-year-old woman died Tuesday after being struck by a commercial recycling truck in a restaurant parking lot.
Pamela Savard of Keene sustained fatal injuries in the collision at approximately 11:09 a.m. in the Chipotle parking lot at 333 Winchester St.
The commercial motor vehicle was a Kenworth refuse recycling truck operated by Agri-Cycle Energy of South Portland, Maine, and driven by Robert Armstrong, 58, of North Hartland.
A portion of Ivy Drive and the Chipotle parking lot was closed for approximately 3.5 hours to facilitate the investigation.
Preliminary investigation indicates that Savard was walking behind the truck, which was backing into the parking lot, when she was struck.
The details and circumstances of this collision remain under investigation.
The Keene Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Keene Fire Department and New Hampshire State Police Troop G.
The incident is being investigated by the Keene Police Department Collision Analysis Team.
