PENN YAN, NY — A woman was arrested on a criminal impersonation charge following a traffic stop on Brown Street.
Morgan C. Rogers, 29, of Dundee, was charged with Criminal Impersonation in the 2nd Degree after police stopped a vehicle in response to a domestic dispute report.
Police responded to a report of two people involved in a domestic incident in a moving vehicle traveling into the Village of Penn Yan.
Officers located the vehicle on Brown Street and initiated a traffic stop.
During the stop, police developed reasonable suspicion that the parties had an active stay away order of protection in place.
During the investigation, Rogers falsely identified herself to police by impersonating one of her family members.
Police were eventually able to positively identify her as Rogers during the investigation.
Rogers was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Penn Yan Village Court at a later date.
