Motorcycle collision on Route 32 in Catskill

CATSKILL, NY — Members of the State Police were dispatched by Greene County 911 to the area of 5450 Route 32 in the town of Catskill for a motor vehicle collision involving a car and a motorcycle with reported personal injuries on Monday at approximately 9:16 p.m.

Upon arrival, troopers located the operator of the 2001 Harley motorcycle identified as Ronald M. Edwards, 64, of Durham, and his 40-year-old female passenger of Catskill suffering from life-threatening injuries.

Both individuals were stabilized at the scene and transported by separate LifeNet helicopters to Albany Medical Center for further treatment.

The operator of the 2004 Toyota identified as Kaitlyn M. Holley, 20, of Alfred, involved in the collision was not injured.

The preliminary investigation determined that the motorcycle was traveling northbound on Route 32 when a sedan traveling southbound attempted to make a left turn into a driveway and collided with the motorcycle, ejecting both riders.

The investigation into the collision remains ongoing.

The State Police were assisted at the scene by the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, Cairo Police Department, Catskill Ambulance, Greene County Medics, Kiskatom Fire Department, and Palenville Fire Department.
