KEENE, NH — Skeletal remains discovered in April have been identified as a woman who was reported missing nearly four years ago, police said Wednesday.
The New Hampshire Office of the Chief Medical Examiner identified the remains as Brenda Kenney, who was 48 years old at the time of her death.
Kenney had been reported missing to the Keene Police Department in July 2022.
The remains were discovered on April 17 in the area of the American Legion on Court Street after police responded to a report of human remains being located.
Detectives recovered the skeletal remains and transferred them to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for further studies and identification.
The cause and manner of Kenney’s death is still pending studies by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
Police said the death is not considered suspicious at this time.
The Keene Police Department was assisted by New Hampshire Fish and Game Conservation Officers, New Hampshire State Police, New England K-9 Search and Rescue Team and the Upper Valley Wilderness Response Team.
