Man arrested on DWI charge in Stillwater

STILLWATER, NY — A man was arrested on a driving while intoxicated charge following a property damage crash early Saturday.

The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash at 12:01 a.m. on Hudson Avenue in the village of Stillwater.

Brett S. Henkel, 42, of Stillwater, is accused of operating a motor vehicle while in an intoxicated condition.

He allegedly refused the chemical test.

Henkel was also cited for moving from lane unsafely, speed not reasonable and prudent and drinking alcohol and using cannabis in a motor vehicle on a public highway.

He had allegedly been traveling north on Hudson Avenue when he struck a vehicle parked on the eastern shoulder of the roadway, forcing it into a third vehicle.

There were no other people involved and no injuries were reported.

Henkel was arraigned before the Honorable Edward Richardson in the Stillwater Town Court and released on his own recognizance pending further proceedings in that court.
