GALWAY, NY — A 45-year-old man faces multiple charges following a domestic incident Thursday morning.
The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office responded to an active domestic incident call at 10:10 a.m. on Galway Road in the town of Galway.
Thomas E. Shear, of Galway, was arrested and charged with aggravated family offense, a class E felony.
He also faces misdemeanor charges of criminal contempt in the 2nd degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the 4th degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree and endangering the welfare of a child.
Shear is accused of committing a specified offense under the statute having previously been convicted of a specified offense within the immediately preceding five years.
He is also accused of violating an order of protection by being in the protected person’s presence.
Shear is charged with possessing a rifle having previously been convicted of a felony.
He is also charged with knowingly and unlawfully possessing methamphetamine while a minor was present.
Shear was arraigned before the Honorable Alison Thomas-Oravsky in the Galway Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Jail pending further proceedings.
