BERLIN, VT — Vermont State Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 89 Southbound near Exit 6 at 3:20 a.m. May 11, 2026.
The operator was identified as Nickolas Saucedo, 22, of Sylmar, California.
Investigation determined Saucedo’s 2025 Mazda CX-30 crossed over the fog line before leaving the roadway and crashing near mile marker 46.8.
While speaking with troopers, Saucedo displayed signs of impairment.
Saucedo was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI and was transported to the Berlin Barracks for processing.
The vehicle sustained minor damage.
Saucedo was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.
Weather conditions were clear and the pavement was dry.
Saucedo was issued a citation to appear in Washington Superior Court – Criminal Division.
