Man arrested on indictment warrant in Penn Yan

PENN YAN, NY — Members of the Auburn Police Department GIVE Unit arrested a man on an indictment warrant on May 5.

Tillman Freeland, 36, of Penn Yan, was arrested on charges stemming from a domestic incident that occurred on Seymour Street in April 2026.

Freeland was indicted on robbery in the third degree, a class D felony.

He was also indicted on criminal contempt in the first degree, a class E felony.

Additional charges include two counts of aggravated family offense, class E felonies.

Freeland faces three counts of criminal contempt in the third degree, class A misdemeanors.

He was also charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, class A misdemeanors.

The indictment warrant was issued out of Cayuga County Court.

Freeland was transported to the Auburn Police Department where he was processed.

He was then brought to the Cayuga County Jail pending arraignment.
