COLLIER TOWNSHIP, PA — Students made a threat about placing a bomb on a school bus transporting children from Chartiers Valley Middle School, prompting an evacuation and police response.
The incident occurred on bus No. 79 during the afternoon route.
Transportation personnel immediately stopped and evacuated the bus after students made the comment, then notified authorities.
The Allegheny County Explosive Ordnance Disposal K-9 unit responded to the scene and determined no explosive devices were located on the bus.
The Collier Township Police Department is conducting an investigation in coordination with Chartiers Valley School District officials.
Appropriate measures are being taken in accordance with school district policy and applicable law.
Police said there is no ongoing threat to students.
No further information will be released because the individuals involved are juveniles.
