ALBANY, NY — A traffic stop led to the arrest of a man on weapons charges May 7, 2026.
State Police assigned to the Troop G Community Stabilization Unit stopped a vehicle on Central Avenue at about 10:43 p.m. for a vehicle and traffic law violation.
The driver was identified as Feyi Adam, 36, of Albany.
During the investigation, an illegally possessed loaded handgun and multiple high-capacity magazines were discovered and seized from the vehicle, police said.
Adam was arrested and transported to State Police Latham for processing.
He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, a class C felony, and criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, a class D felony, along with vehicle and traffic law violations.
Adam was arraigned at Colonie Town Court where he was remanded to the Albany County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 cash, $15,000 bond, or a $30,000 partially secured bond.
