Man arrested on drug, firearm charges in Cambridge

CAMBRIDGE, MA — A Lowell man was arrested on multiple drug and firearm charges following an investigation into illegal narcotic sales.

Brett Parnham, 49, of Lowell was taken into custody by Cambridge Police and members of the Suburban Middlesex County Drug Task Force.

Detectives identified Parnham as part of an investigation into illegal narcotic sales in Cambridge and the surrounding area.

Parnham was located in Porter Square and was observed by detectives engaged in a suspected drug transaction.

Detectives stopped Parnham and found him to be in possession of a large quantity of cocaine, methamphetamine, fentanyl and suboxone, much of which were prepackaged for sale.

Parnham was also armed with a loaded .45 caliber handgun.

He does not possess a License-to-Carry.

Parnham will be arraigned in Cambridge District Court on charges including possession to distribute Class A, trafficking and possession to distribute Class B, carry a loaded firearm without a license — third offense, carry a loaded firearm with three prior drug convictions and drug possession Class E.
