LINCOLN, RI — State Police arrested a Providence man on multiple drug charges and a driving offense following a traffic stop on Route 295 North.
George Betters, 40, of Providence, was taken into custody at 8:42 a.m.
He faces charges of possession of a Schedule I-V controlled substance less than 10 grams for cocaine, crack cocaine and fentanyl, as well as driving without a license, fourth or subsequent offense.
Betters was transported to State Police Headquarters for processing and later brought to Third Division District Court for arraignment.
Man arrested on domestic violence warrant in Woonsocket

WOONSOCKET, RI — State Police arrested a local man on an outstanding warrant during a traffic stop on Harris Avenue.
Stephen Laforce, 48, of Woonsocket, was taken into custody at 4:15 p.m.
He was arrested on an AG Request – Rule 9 warrant for domestic violence felony assault and/or battery and domestic violence disorderly conduct.
Laforce was transported to State Police Headquarters for processing and later turned over to the Adult Correctional Institution Men’s Intake Center.
Man arrested on hit-and-run charge in Scituate

SCITUATE, RI — State Police arrested a Massachusetts man on a hit-and-run charge following a barracks investigation.
Michael Chouinard, 47, of Swansea, Massachusetts, was located by the Providence Police Department and taken into custody at 8:14 p.m.
He was charged with duty to stop in accident resulting in damage to attended vehicle.
Chouinard was transported to State Police Headquarters, where he was processed and arraigned by a justice of the peace.
He was released with a future Sixth Division District Court date.
