NEW YORK, NY — The New York City Sheriff’s Office Joint Compliance Task Force seized two firearms during inspections of illegal smoke shops selling cannabis products.

Officers removed one imitation pistol with a loaded magazine and a second illegal firearm with a loaded magazine and additional ammunition from the two shops.

Sheriff’s officials said illegal smoke shops serve as doorways for other criminal activity, including the sale of narcotics and possession of illegal firearms.
