BOSTON, MA — A traffic stop led to the arrest of a man and the recovery of a loaded firearm Friday evening in Dorchester.

Jakai Boswell, 23, of Dorchester, was arrested at about 5:45 p.m. May 1 in the area of 48 Hartford Street.

Members of the Youth Violence Strike Force and Massachusetts State Police Gang Unit were on patrol when they observed a motor vehicle operating with a severely cracked front windshield and an expired registration sticker.

Officers activated their emergency lights and sirens and conducted a traffic stop in the area of 48 Hartford Street.

As officers approached the vehicle to speak with the operator, he became confrontational, according to police.
