COLUMBIA, PA — Two people set fire to materials on a basketball court at Makle Park early Monday morning, causing damage to the court surface.
The incident occurred at 1:12 a.m. at the park located at 550 Avenue N.
Two individuals entered the park at 1:09 a.m. and walked to the basketball court, where they ignited a fire involving metal and clothing.
The blaze damaged the court, leaving a melted zipper fused to the surface.
The pair left the park at 1:21 a.m. and headed toward S. 5th Street via Corn Avenue.
The Columbia Borough Police Department is asking anyone with ring camera footage of the suspects or information about the incident to come forward.
