WALTON, NY — A traffic stop for an expired inspection sticker led to the arrest of a Downsville man Friday evening.

Sheriff’s deputies conducting stationary radar on Stockton Avenue observed a vehicle traveling westbound with an expired New York State inspection sticker around 7 p.m. April 17.

Deputies stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as Joshua Davis, 27, of Downsville.

An inquiry with the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles revealed Davis’s driving privileges were revoked for three speeding violations or misdemeanors in 18 months since February.

Davis was arrested and issued traffic summonses charging him with aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree, a misdemeanor, and violation offenses of unlicensed operator and uninspected motor vehicle.

Davis was released on tickets and directed to appear in Walton Village Court at a later date.
