Woman cited for DUI after crash in Chittenden

CHITTENDEN, VT — A 27-year-old woman was cited for driving under the influence after crashing her vehicle on Mountain Top Road on April 24, 2026.

Vermont State Police from the Rutland Barracks were notified of the crash at approximately 9:45 p.m.

Troopers determined that Hanna Vilbaum was traveling southbound on Mountain Top Road when she left the roadway via the west shoulder.

Her 2024 Jeep Wrangler drove into a ditch and over a driveway before coming to an uncontrolled rest in the ditch on the far side of the driveway.

During the investigation, troopers observed Vilbaum display several indicators of impairment.

Vilbaum was screened for DUI and processed at the Vermont State Police Rutland Barracks.

The vehicle sustained heavy front-end damage.

No injuries were reported.

Weather conditions were clear and the road was dry blacktop at the time of the crash.

Vilbaum was released with a citation to appear in Rutland Superior Court Criminal Division at a later date.
