HUDSON, MA — Police recovered a loaded firearm near Farley Elementary School on Monday following a tip from another department.
Chief Richard DiPersio said the Hudson Police Department received information from the Marlborough Police Department regarding a report involving a juvenile from Hudson.
Police said the juvenile was in possession of a firearm and displayed it at a local shopping center in Marlborough over the weekend.
It was later reported that the juvenile may have hidden the firearm in a wooded area behind the Farley Elementary School.
The juvenile is not a student at Hudson Public Schools.
Hudson Police immediately responded to the elementary school and searched the surrounding area in collaboration with Marlborough Police and the Massachusetts State Police K9 Unit.
As a result of the search, law enforcement officers located and recovered a loaded firearm.
At no time was there any direct threat to school safety, police said.
