OXFORD, PA — Police have charged a man after he allegedly damaged a vehicle’s rear window because it was parked in what he considered his parking spot.

The Oxford Police Department was dispatched to the 400 block of Broad Street at 11:02 p.m. on Feb. 7 for a report of a victim who returned to their parked vehicle to find the rear window damaged.

A surveillance camera in the area captured the sound of breaking glass and two suspects entering a nearby residence.

Police made contact at the residence with Scott Rhinesmith, 53, of Oxford, who admitted to causing the damage because he was upset that the vehicle was parked in “his parking spot.”

Rhinesmith has been charged via summons with criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 14 at the Oxford District Court.
