Motorcyclist dies after crash in LaFayette

LAFAYETTE, N.Y. — A motorcyclist died after losing control of his vehicle and crashing on Coye Road on March 10, 2026.

State Police responded to the scene at approximately 4:30 p.m. for a motorcycle crash with injuries.

Christopher Carlson, 42, of Jamesville, was traveling north on Coye Road on a black 2023 Can-Am three-wheeled motorcycle when he lost control, according to a preliminary investigation.

The motorcycle exited the west side of the roadway and struck a culvert and rock retaining wall near a driveway, ejecting Carlson from the vehicle.

Carlson was transported to Upstate University Hospital in critical condition, where he later died from his injuries.

The investigation remains ongoing.
