Woman arrested on drug, endangerment charges in Jamestown

JAMESTOWN, NY — A woman was arrested after allegedly backing into a school bus while impaired by drugs with two children in her vehicle.

Officers were notified of a property damage accident involving a vehicle and a school bus near Martin Road and Brad Street at approximately 3 p.m. on March 5, 2026.

An investigation determined that Emily Depane, 34, of Jamestown, backed into a school bus causing a minor collision.

Officers determined that Depane was operating the vehicle while her ability was impaired by drugs and that two passengers under the age of 16 were inside the vehicle at the time of the incident.

Depane was taken into custody and a subsequent search of the vehicle located a quantity of methamphetamine.

Depane was transported to the Jamestown City Jail where she was held pending arraignment.

She faces charges of driving while ability impaired by drugs, driving while ability impaired by drugs with a passenger under 16, unsafe backing, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

The driving while ability impaired by drugs with a passenger under 16 charge is a felony under Leandra’s Law.
