SHELBURNE, VT — A Burlington man was arrested after allegedly assaulting officers at a local motel.
Issac Jacobs, 48, of Burlington, was taken into custody March 5 following a disturbance at the Countryside Motel on Shelburne Road.
The Shelburne Police Department was dispatched to the motel at approximately 8:51 p.m. for a report of a fight in progress.
When officers arrived, the fight had ended and those involved had returned to their rooms.
During the investigation, police determined Jacobs had been in an altercation with another resident.
While speaking with Jacobs, he became assaultive toward officers, according to police.
Officer Benjamin Hollwedel and Officer Caleb Casco took Jacobs into custody after a brief struggle.
Jacobs was transported to the University of Vermont Medical Center emergency room for evaluation.
He was issued a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division, on charges of aggravated assault and resisting arrest.
The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be filed.
The Vermont State Police and South Burlington Police assisted at the scene.
