JAMESTOWN, NY — A traffic stop early Sunday morning led to the arrest of a local man on drunken driving and warrant charges.
Officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s Third Platoon stopped a vehicle at the intersection of East 5th Street and Spring Street at 1:50 a.m. March 1, 2026.
During the investigation, police determined the driver was operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
The driver was identified as Esai I. Vazquez, 28, of Jamestown.
Police also discovered Vazquez had several active bench warrants issued by Jamestown City Court.
Vazquez was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail.
He was charged with driving while intoxicated and held on the active warrants.
Vazquez also received several traffic citations.
He was held pending arraignment.
