LOWER SAUCON TOWNSHIP, PA — A juvenile has been charged with terroristic threats after allegedly making a threat involving a firearm at Saucon Valley Middle School.
The Lower Saucon Township Police Department was contacted by the school on Wednesday regarding the potential threat to the school district.
The threat led to the temporary closure of the Saucon Valley School District on Thursday.
Police identified the juvenile responsible and filed charges of terroristic threats and related offenses with the Northampton County Juvenile Probation Department.
Authorities said there is no information indicating any ongoing threat to the school district or the public.
District Attorney Baratta said the making of any threat, particularly involving a firearm, is a serious matter and will be addressed accordingly.
The investigation was conducted by the Northampton County Office of the District Attorney, the Hellertown Police Department, and the Lower Saucon Township Police Department in cooperation with the Saucon Valley School District.
