JAMESTOWN, NY — A woman was arrested early Sunday after police say she failed to supervise her juvenile son who was found on the city’s north side during curfew hours.

Officers with the Jamestown Police Department’s Third Platoon engaged in a foot pursuit with the juvenile around 4 a.m. on Feb. 16, 2026.

The juvenile was supposed to be at his residence on the city’s west side under the supervision of his mother, Amber Johnson.

Officers responded to Johnson’s residence following the incident.

Johnson was taken into custody and transported to the Jamestown City Jail without incident.

Police say the juvenile is well known to officers, and dealing with him past curfew is common.

The Jamestown Police Department has had contact with the juvenile at least five times within the last three months.

Each time the juvenile was returned to his mother.

Johnson was charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

She was arraigned and released by the courts.
