OXFORD, PA — Police arrested a man on drunken driving and related charges after his vehicle went over an embankment and into a shopping center parking lot.

Manuel Morenos, 27, of Nottingham, was taken into custody at 10:42 p.m. on Sept. 13 in the area of 331 North Third Street.

Oxford Police Department officers on patrol observed a vehicle go over an embankment and into the parking lot of the Oxford Square Shopping Center.

Officers narrowly avoided a collision with the vehicle as it came to rest against the embankment on the south side of the parking lot.

Police made contact with Morenos as he was attempting to restart the already running vehicle.

After reaching inside to turn off the vehicle, officers attempted to speak to Morenos, who appeared confused and showed multiple signs of intoxication.

Several open alcoholic beverages were visible in plain view throughout the vehicle.

While exiting the vehicle, Morenos was advised he was under arrest, which caused him to struggle and resist officers.

After being assisted to the ground, Morenos was placed into custody and transported to the Oxford Police Department for processing.

Morenos was transported by constables to Chester County Prison where he was arraigned on Sept. 14 and held on $10,000 cash bail.

A preliminary hearing was held on Sept. 30 at the Oxford District Court where all charges were held to the Court of Common Pleas.

A criminal trial is scheduled for Feb. 17, 2026.

Morenos is charged with resisting arrest, DUI general impairment first offense, reckless driving, disorderly conduct and restrictions on alcoholic beverages.
